Mentaz Auckland – Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen

Mentaz Auckland – Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen

Wafu Tonkotsu RamenSo again I tried what they recommend and fisrt thing on the menu. Wafu Tonkotsu Ramen

Soup 2/5
Extremely oily. As soon as you finish eating there is a layer of fat in your bowl. It also has strong pork smell.

Noodle 3/5
Average thickness. Nothing special. And as you can see on the picture it doesn’t look that great either.

Atmosphere 3/5
It’s situated nicely on Lorne St. Next to Auckland Art Gallery and very central.

Price 3/5
$11 is average in Auckland

It’s unfortunate that Ramen restaurants outside Japan have to cater everything from Sashimi to Donburi as well as Ramen. I know these guys do quite good donburi.
Well it’s a typical case where Ramen restaurant spreading themselves too thin over many kinds of food.

And yes this restaurant would go bankrupt in Japan.
